THE J2 DESIGN PROCESS

J2’s design process begins with the assessment of the existing damage and as-built conditions. We then evaluate the related federal, state, and jurisdictional code requirements for the necessary repairs. Finally, we tailor our design packages to incorporate the site specific conditions, code requirements, and weatherization details to produce a clear, concise bid package that’s ready for submission to bidding agencies and permitting. Our construction background enables us to produce “readable and buildable” plans that the field crew appreciate.

The project drawings and specifications prepared by J2’s design department can be produced for a number of different purposes, including permit submittals for pre-construction, bid sets for estimating purposes, or construction documentation for construction. Each drawing set is prepared on an individual basis, because each project’s repair scope and site conditions can vary. All of J2’s issued drawing sets are stamped by licensed professionals, in accordance with the governing jurisdictions.

J2’s design team consists of architects, engineers, and construction professionals. We combine our efforts on projects to meet the even the most accelerated of scheduling and project demands. Our engineers are available to provide structural assessments, shoring details and seismic upgrade recommendations. We also have CAD technicians who can provide timely responses to RFI’s and product research clarifications.

J2’s in-house reference library houses most historical editions of the typical construction standards found in the region. J2 also maintains an expansive product reference library, to ensure we are advising our clients on the most current and best use application of weatherproofing materials for their project location and exposures.
