J2 Building Consultants provides 3rd party compliance inspections in Portland for remediation projects or new construction. Our objective is to provide a service which is favorable to everybody: owner, developer, contractor, and building department. Third party inspections can be provided as a stand-alone service, or are often bundled with our construction project design and management services. Washington State RCW 64.55.030 states that “all multiunit residential buildings shall have the building enclosure inspected by a qualified inspector during the course of initial construction and during rehabilitative construction”.

Third party inspections may not be required by law on all construction or remediation projects; however, it is highly recommended to have compliance inspections performed to avoid any defects that could occur.

Important aspects of the third party inspection process are thorough photographic documentation, regular reporting of observations and maintaining an archive of non-conformance conditions. Without a doubt, your third party inspector will be spending a significant amount of time analyzing and reporting design and execution errors of the critical details enabling the correction of errors and motivating higher performance and due diligence by all parties of the construction team.
